New 18- and 20-inch alloy wheel options are available across the range, too, in addition to a revised colour palette, and rejigged LED tail-lights incorporating Lexus' signature 'L' motif.

Onboard technology has also been bolstered, with new driver-assist tech including lane tracing assist and road sign assist now available as part of the latest Lexus Safety System + active safety suite, while the cabin gets a new touchscreen infotainment system debuting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in Australia for the brand – though the fiddly touchpad still remains.

There's also two seating positions for the third-row of seats, which allows for "securing greater leg space when required".

Under the skin, Lexus has fitted redesigned shock absorbers which reduce high-frequency vibrations caused by road surface imperfections, while stiffer and thicker stabiliser bars enhance the body's rigidity, along with increased use of high-strength adhesive in the construction.

As before, the RX is available in both five- (pictured in white) and seven-seat 'L' forms (pictured in blue). The six-seat configuration with second-row captain's chairs will not be offered here.

The powertrain family is also unchanged for the updated line-up, meaning RX300 2.0-litre turbo petrol, RX350 3.5-litre V6 petrol, and RX450h 3.5-litre V6 hybrid will be available.

Stay tuned to Drive for a full pricing and specifications rundown in the lead-up to the updated RX's launch during the fourth quarter of 2019.
