2014-16 Audi A6 & A7 recalled

Audi Australia has issued a recall for the 2014 to 2016 model-year A6 and A7 over concerns a faulty heater element could pose a fire hazard.

The German marque reports that affected vehicles have an auxiliary heater element in the air conditioner that could fail due to an incorrectly plugged in electrical connecter.

If the condition occurs, the connectors could overheat causing the element to fail, which could cause smolder damage or even a fire.

A fire risk poses a safety hazard to the occupants of the vehicle and other road users.

There are 125 vehicles affected by this recall, manufactured between July and October in 2014 – a VIN list is attached here.

Audi Australia will contact all known owners of affected vehicles, and will advise customers to arrange the inspection and repair of the recalled A6 and A7 models.
