Land Rover recalls several MY16-18 models for emissions fix

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has issued a recall for various 2016-18 Land Rover and Range Rover models fitted with 2.0-litre petrol engines, as they may not meet required emissions standards.

Following the global announcement back in March which saw the company confirm 44,000 vehicles across its three brands for variance in actual emissions, Land Rover has kicked off its Australia recall campaign which affects 953 units locally.

"During testing there was greater than expected variation in CO2 emissions between vehicles," the company says in its recall notice.

Models affected by this notice are the Land Rover Discovery Sport, Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Velar vehicles fitted with 2.0-litre petrol engines during the 2016-18 model years.

These units were available for sale from 9 March 2015 through 5 July 2018 – a VIN list is available here.

JLR's local division will contact affected owners by mail, and will advise those affected to present their vehicle to their preferred dealer for a software update.
