2019 Subaru Levorg gets 2.0L atmo four in the UK

Subaru UK has updated the Levorg wagon with revised styling, more safety equipment, and a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated engine.

Compared to the model it replaces, the single-trim Levorg 2.0i GT gets a revised front bumper, 'sharper' grille, adaptive LED headlights, LED fog-lights, and new 18-inch alloy wheels.

Under the bonnet, the British arm has ditched the previous 1.6-litre turbo for a 2.0-litre atmo 'boxer' engine, which makes a fairly uninspiring 110kW at 6200rpm and 198Nm at 4200rpm.

It's likely the new engine is similar to the one used in the XV crossover, though that unit makes slightly more power and slightly less torque (115kW/196Nm).

By comparison, the outgoing model's 1.6-litre 'DIT' turbo petrol made 125kW and 250Nm. As before, the Levorg is available exclusively with a 'Lineartronic' continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Inside, the UK model gets subtle revisions to the instrument, door panels, and switchgear, while power-adjustable lumbar support is now fitted to the driver's seat.

At the rear there's now a 40/20/40 split back seat, which the company says "improves convenience and is particularly suited to loading long items with two passengers seated in the rear".

Rounding out the spec sheet is a standard 7.0-inch infotainment system with satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Pricing in the UK for the 2019 Levorg 2.0i GT starts at £30,995 ($57,537), with first deliveries commencing in July.

Australia

The Levorg hasn't received an update locally since the MY18 range launched in August 2017, bringing a new 1.6-litre turbocharged entry model, and similar design changes to the vehicle just announced for the UK.

Speaking with Drive, a spokesperson for Subaru Australia said "[There are] no Levorg changes imminent for Australia".
