Ford has recalled a huge batch of 2016-18 Rangers, over concerns about about their flexible front brake hoses.

According to the company, come vehicles might be fitted with a flexible brake hose prone to failure when it's twisted during installation. If twisted, the inner and outer hose layers could wear over bumps requiring a lot of suspension travel.

A warning light illuminates in the instrument binnacle when the problem occurs.

When the issue occurs, the car could leak brake fluid, reducing the effectiveness of the brakes. Naturally, this increases the risk of accident.

A total of 89,094 utes are included in the campaign – a VIN list is attached here.

Ford will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealer.
