The ultra-luxury sedan is being developed to celebrate 115 years of Rolls-Royce, and will be sold through RM Sotheby's.
Rolls-Royce will celebrate its 115th birthday with a one-off 2020 Phantom, set to be auctioned in New York by RM Sotheby's.
Details about the car are hard to come by, but the teaser image you see here likely provides a hint. It'll be red, and the cabin will feature a "hand-crafted leather work of art". What that will look like remains to be seen.
Given it's been designed to celebrate a birthday, we suspect there will be plenty of 115-based garnish. Plaques, badges, engravings... you get the idea.
The dashboard trim has been a particular Phantom selling point, with Rolls-Royce describing it as a 'gallery' for owners to showcase everything from laser-cut metal to wooden inlays, and seems a likely target for the team designing the 115th birthday special.
Rolls-Royce has all kinds of special options, too, like its headliner designed to mimic the night sky – expect to see a smattering throughout the car auctioned by Sotheby's.
Speaking of which, the auction will be accompanied by a five-course dinner at RM's redesigned headquarters in New York. The auction is happening in North American autumn, but no firm date has been set.
Stay tuned for more on when the Phantom will be sold, and how much it actually fetches when the hammer falls.
