Toyota remains Australia’s most trusted carmaker

Toyota has once again been named Australia's most trusted carmaker, edging out Mazda and BMW to take the award for the second year running.

The award is conducted by Reader's Digest, and involves a survey of more than 3000 consumers across 70 different product categories.

"Trust is not something that is granted, nor is it achieved overnight, but rather something earned over time and through many actions," said Sean Hanley, Toyota Australia vice president of sales and marketing.

Both BMW and Mazda featured as 'honourable mentions' in the survey, but Reader's Digest didn't disclose which finished higher.

Mazda and Toyota frequent the pointy end of Australian trust and satisfaction surveys.

Mazda last year topped the JD Power after-sales service satisfaction survey for the third year running, followed closely by Toyota, while the former also polls well in Roy Morgan research.
