7 May 2014: BMW M5 30 Jahre revealed

Revealed today after early details leaked yesterday, the ’30 Jahre M5’ (30 years of the M5) will produce 441kW of power and 700Nm of torque from its uprated 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 – up 18kW/20Nm from the Competition Package-equipped M5 as is sold as standard in Australia.

The power boost is achieved through tweaks to the engine management and an increase in charge pressure, which BMW says contribute to the 30 Jahre M5 accelerating from 0-100km/h 0.3 seconds quicker than the regular model, stopping the clock in just 3.9 seconds - the same sprint time Audi's RS7 Sportback claims.
