2020 BMW X6 spied inside and out

Both the interior and exterior of the third-generation BMW X6 have been photographed at the Nurburgring ahead of the car's launch.

As we expected the X6's dashboard, door panels, digital instrumentation screen, touchscreen infotainment unit, and climate controls are carried over from the X5.

Final trim and colour choices may differ between the two vehicles, though.

The exterior of the latest prototypes have a bit less camouflage, especially around the wheelarches.

The prototype was conveniently parked next to the outgoing model, so we can see how the company has chosen to evolve the car's design.

At the back, the new model's thinner tail-lights and more heavily sculpted tailgate help differentiate it from both the current car and the latest X5. The licence plate holder has also been moved to the bumper from tailgate.

Up front, the new X6 features two oversized five-point kidney grilles resembling flared nostrils.

Although BMW has yet to announce any details about the X6's drivetrain options, we would be shocked if it didn't draw on the pool of turbocharged petrol and diesel six- and eight-cylinder engines already available in the latest X5.
