Renault Australia: Anouk Poelmann named managing director

Andrew Moore's replacement has been named, and she has a history with French brands in Australia.

Anouk Poelmann has succeeded Andrew Moore as managing director of Renault Australia, after Moore's sudden departure on April 10.

Poelmann has form with French brands in Australia. Having served on the Inchcape Australasia executive team, she headed up Peugeot Citroen Australia. The company says she has history of business turnarounds and disruptive transformations around the world.

"I’m delighted to join Renault and to lead the brand’s Australian operations,” Poelmann said in a statement.

"Renault has a strong history and appealing core values, underpinned by outstanding product, committed dealers and passionate staff and I am looking forward to continuing the brand’s journey in the evolving Australian marketplace."

As for why Moore's time in charge ended? The official line focused on family, and spending more time with them while they're young.

During his time at Renault, Moore appeared keen to expand the brand's product line beyond the usual range of vans, SUVs and cars.

He repeatedly spoke of his desire to get products like the Alaskan dual-cab and compact Duster Oroch ute to Australia, but couldn't get either across the line.

At last check, the Alaskan was still on the table for early in 2020 but not confirmed.
