2019 Audi Q5 recalled

445 SUVs could have leaking brake cylinders which could lead to a braking failure.

Audi Australia has issued a recall for the 2019 model-year Q5 over concerns the master brake cylinder could fail.

The German marque reports the aforementioned master cylinder made develop a leak as the wall thickness may not meet correct specifications, which could lead to a hydraulic brake system failure.

Audi says the condition poses an increased risk of an accident, though notes the electronic parking brake and its emergency braking function remain operational.

There are 445 units affected by this recall, manufactured between July 2018 and March 2019 – a VIN list is attached here.

Owners will be contacted by Audi Australia, and will be advised to get in touch with their local dealer to arrange the inspection and repair of their vehicle.
