Dark-themed specials bring enhanced looks and specification, based on top-spec models in the company's SUV line-up.

Audi Q5, SQ5, SQ7 Black Editions announced

Audi Australia has announced a trio of new Black Editions, based on the Q5, SQ5 and SQ7 SUVs.

Each edition gets a range of appointment and equipment upgrades that are valued at over $10,000 respectively, with pricing kicking off at $80,300 before on-road costs for the Q5 45 TFSI Black Edition.

For Q5 models, the Black Edition brings 21-inch alloy wheels (a first for the Q5), metallic paint, the S line exterior package, S line illuminated front door sill trims, privacy glass, and the high-gloss titanium black exterior package – which includes black mirrors and roof rails amongst other black accents.

Inside, the Q5 Black Edition gains the ambient interior lighting package with 30 selectable colours, heated front seats, and a flat-bottom steering wheel. All up, that comes to "more than $12,000 in additional features", for an additional circa-$8000 over the models on which they're based.

The Black Edition package is available on both the Q5 45 TFSI quattro and 50 TDI quattro (from $90,900).

Meanwhile, the SQ5 Black Edition brings additional specification like the usually optional Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, a head-up display and extended leather upholstery package, which Audi says equates to more than $13,000 of extra value.

Pricing for the SQ5 Black Edition starts at $108,200 plus on-road costs, a little under $9000 more than the standard SQ5.

Finally, the SQ7 Black Edition is priced from $174,900, and is claimed to bring an additional $17,000 worth of specification for the $13,000 outlay over the standard model.

Highlights include metallic paint, carbon-fibre mirror housings and interior trim inlets, high-gloss titanium black exterior package, 22-inch Audi Sport alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and diamond-patterned stitching for the seat upholstery.
