Ford Fiesta ST: Ford Performance Edition revealed for the UK

600 examples of eye-catching orange special will be produced for Britain, featuring a range of special parts for the Ford Performance catalogue.

Ford UK has revealed the Fiesta ST Ford Performance Edition, a limited-edition version of the new little hot hatch featuring a special paint finish and a range of performance accessories as standard.

Limited to 600 units, the Fiesta Ford Performance Edition is based on the UK market's 'ST-3' variant, and gains special 10-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels – which save 7kg – and a Ford Performance coilover suspension package with stainless steel damper housings and powder-coated Ford Performance Blue springs.

The aforementioned suspension upgrade also drops the ride height by 15mm at the front and 10mm at the rear, and can be adjusted manually with 16 rebound settings and 12 bump settings. According to the Blue Oval, the package has been "extensively tested at the Nurburgring Nordschleife by Ford Performance engineers".

Rounding out the distinguishing features from the base car is the special Deep Orange paintwork, which is about as 'subtle' as they come.

Carryover equipment from the ST-3 grade includes LED headlights, a B&O premium audio system, a specially-designed Quaife limited-slip differential up the front, launch control, and performance shift light indicators for the driver.

Pricing is still to be announced, though the company has indicated the Ford Performance Edition will command at least £3000 ($5482.45) over the ST-3's list price (£22,495) when it goes on sale in June. Deliveries are expected to commence in September.

Since going on sale in the UK in May last year, Ford has sold more than 5000 examples of the new Fiesta ST in the region.

Australia

The Fiesta ST Ford Performance Edition is reserved for the UK market, so don't expect to see one on Australian roads any time soon.

You'll be waiting a while to see any new-gen Fiesta ST for that matter, since the local division has delayed the Australian launch until "late 2019".
