2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS spied

Based on the latest GLE, the new GLS will once again offer a more spacious interior thanks to its larger body.

The next-generation Mercedes-Benz GLS has been spied again, but this latest prototype has lost a lot of camouflage compared to its predecessors.

There's still a substantial amount of disguise at both ends, but we can now clearly see the shape of the headlights, grille and front fascia.

At rear, the GLS looks set to feature a thin strip of tail-lights stretching into the tailgate.

Under the skin, the new GLS will ride on a version of the MHA platform underpinning the smaller GLE.

With its larger body and stretched wheelbase, the GLS will offer more space for the occupants of its three rows of seats.

Power is expected to come from a selection of six- and eight-cylinder engines, with mild and plug-in hybrids very likely.

We expect the GLS to have all of the company's latest safety features, as well as the MBUX infotainment system.

The GLS will also be offered with an updated version of Magic Body Control with aim of providing passengers an even more comfortable ride.

The new GLS will be built alongside the GLE at the company's factory in Alabama.
