Mercedes-AMG A35 L confirmed for Shanghai

Stretched performance sedan to debut alongside Concept GLB at Chinese motor show next week.

Mercedes-Benz has outlined its display for the 2019 Shanghai motor show, which kicks off on April 16.

Two vehicles will headline the Mercedes stand, one being the Concept GLB which previews the all-new GLB SUV, the other being the long-wheelbase version of the Mercedes-AMG A35 Sedan which will be exclusive to the Chinese market.

"A new entry-level model to the world of driving performance from Mercedes-AMG also celebrates its world premiere: furthermore, a new variant of the A35 4Matic Saloon is built exclusively for the Chinese market," the company said in its press release.

"The four-door three-box design combines the brand's hallmark sportiness with lots of room."

Meanwhile, we've seen an interior sketch of the Concept GLB (above), and it should be pretty close to the production specification of the upcoming GLB crossover.

The image doesn't really show any surprises, given the layout of the cabin will be pretty much identical to that of the related B-Class MPV.

We can see the dual-screen MBUX infotainment and driver's instrument display, and a minimalistic approach to physical switchgear, as per its low-riding cousin.
