McLaren has revealed a sneak peek of its upcoming Grand Tourer ahead of its full reveal in May.
First announced at the Geneva motor show, the softer McLaren pictured here will be put through its paces on a number of long-distance drives before launch, including a 1600km run from Barcelona, Spain to McLaren HQ in Woking, UK.
The car will have two people on board, along with a full complement of luggage. McLaren says the new model will need to be "comfortable and refined over the long distances a grand tourer is expected to consume" when it launches.
Unlike the wider line-up, the Grand Tourer won't fit into the Sport, Super and Ultimate Series classification system. It will be a standalone model with a "spacious, uncluttered and modern" interior "with only authentic, high quality materials" derived from the three-seat Speedtail, previously known as the BP23.
The new Grand Tourer will launch in May. Stay tuned for more in the lead up to its debut.
