Audi AI:ME Concept teased for Shanghai

Audi is preparing an autonomous city hatch for the Shanghai motor show, with a profile that calls the A2 to mind.

Audi has teased an autonomous concept car for the Shanghai motor show, continuing the theme laid out by last year's Aicon and Elaine show cars.

Based on the sketches you see here, the AI:ME is a smaller interpretation of the autonomous design language debuted on the two concepts mentioned earlier. The nose has a similar scowling look, while the rear is pert and upright.

There are shades of A2 about the profile, which is no bad thing. The doors appear to open outwards (suicide doors), but more will become clear when the concept is fully revealed.

Inside, the sketch still includes a steering wheel, along with a three-tiered dashboard display. There are also small displays in the doors, although their purpose isn't necessarily clear.

We'll know more about the AI:ME when it's released at the Shanghai motor show later this month.
