CarAdvice on YourMoney, 2 April 2019: What’s on this week’s show?

CarAdvice airs Wednesdays at 7:30pm AEDT on free-to-air channel 95 and Foxtel channel 601.

On this week's episode of CarAdvice, Trent Nikolic and Paul Maric talk about unique police cars, public apologies, and elderly drivers, and put a pair of strong-selling hatchbacks head-to-head.

First up is a Honda Civic Type R police car. No, that's not a typo! New South Wales police will be running the Japanese hot hatch as a way for the cops to engage with the community. Looks cool, hey?

Audi has apologised for the Dieselgate saga, and told the media it will "never happen again" at its annual briefing. The company also said it has "learned" from its mistakes, and "taken appropriate measures" to stop it being repeated.

Finally, there are calls for elderly drivers to be re-tested more regularly, after a spike in accidents involving motorists aged over 75.

Hatchbacks are popular in Australia, and the Volkswagen Golf and Toyota Corolla are two of the best-known examples. In our comparison, we pit the Golf Trendline against the Corolla Hybrid, to see how they stack up.

There's also a new Porsche Macan S, with a fresh look and updated interior. Here's how it fares on Australian roads. And finally, the boys talk to Ross Greenwood about how the Federal Election will impact new car pricing.

"CarAdvice” airs every Wednesday at 7:30pm AEDT on free-to-air channel 95 and Foxtel channel 601.
