2020 Honda Jazz spied again

The new model could be offered solely as a hybrid in Europe, and the company looks to be preparing an off-road-flavoured variant too.

In these latest spy photos, the fourth-generation Honda Jazz doesn't look as if it will stray too far from the template laid out by earlier models.

Our spy photography agency snapped two prototypes undergoing testing in Europe. One is a regular hatch with a little bit less camouflage than the vehicle spied in September 2018.

The other is fitted with roof rails, and some extra protection for its wheel arches and sills. This could be a Fiesta Active-style variant to bridge the gap between the regular Jazz and the HR-V crossover.

Unlike last year's prototype, we can now see the blades on the grille, more of the headlight design, including the LED driving lights, and a little bit of the tail-light graphics, which now stretch into the tailgate.

As with previous generations of the Jazz, the fourth-generation model looks as though it keep Soichiro Honda's ethos of "man maximum, machine minimum" alive with a tall hatch design featuring minimal overhangs.

The new model will probably have a slightly sportier flavour than today's car as evidenced by the raked back forward edge of the front door's window frame.

According to Autocar the new Jazz will be sold only with hybrid drivetrains in Europe. Conventional petrol engines are likely for other markets, though.
