2018 Porsche 718, 911 recalled
29 sports cars have been asked back to the dealer for potentially faulty airbag sensors that may compromise crash protection.
Porsche Australia is recalling certain 2018 718 and 911 models over concerns of faulty airbag sensors.
The German marque reports affected vehicles have airbag sensors in the sides of the vehicle "that may not have been tensioned properly".
If the condition occurs, the restraint systems may not protect the vehicle's passengers as intended in the event of a collision.
There are 29 vehicles affected across the 718 and 911 model lines, sold between 23 October 2017 and 16 May 2018 – a VIN list is available here.
Owners of the recalled Porsche sports cars will be contacted via mail, and are advised to get in touch with their local dealer to arrange the inspection and repair of their vehicle.
