26 March 2015: Kia Optima revealed

The new-generation Optima represents a design evolution, building on the styling of the current model that kicked off Kia’s uprising in 2010.

Angular headlights flow seamlessly into the Optima’s diamond-effect ‘tiger-nose’ grille, while a wide lower air intake and side intakes pushed to the edges of the muscular bumper add width and presence to its new front end.

To be produced in Thailand alongside the Ford Ranger ute with which it shares its basic underpinnings, the seven-seat Everest will compete with other rough-and-ready, ute-based four-wheel-drives such as the Holden Colorado 7 and Isuzu MU-X.

Debuting at today’s New York auto show, the Audi A3 sedan marks the small car’s entry into the compact sedan market for the first time.

Blending Audi’s three-box and coupe design philosophies, the 4.46m-long A3 sedan has short overhangs, sharper door lines and slightly larger wheel arches flares than the 4.29m-long Audi A3 Sportback, while riding on a 62mm longer wheelbase and being 11mm wider.

27 March 2013: Range Rover Sport revealed

Revealed in New York today ahead of its official unveiling at tomorrow’s auto show, the second-generation Range Rover Sport is up to 420kg lighter than its predecessor – down from 2535kg to 2115kg – a feat achieved largely through the luxury SUV’s switch from its old Land Rover Discovery 4-derived separate-chassis underpinnings to an all-aluminium monocoque borrowed from the new Range Rover.

27 March 2009: Tesla Model S concept revealed

Mr Musk says that the car will be built in California and initial customers can expect delivery during 2011.

Interestingly, you will be able to select three different power configurations, that’s a 257-kilometre, 370-kilometre and 482-kilometre battery packs.

The company is planning a production run of up to 20,000 Model S a year once the factory is at full capacity in 2012. However, the go ahead on this particular Tesla model depends on whether the company receives an A$500 million loan from the Department of Energy.
