2020 Audi A5 Cabriolet spied

New drop-top snapped for the first time, with mild styling revisions and updated tech the main changes expected.

The facelifted Audi A5 Cabriolet has been spotted during development testing on the snowy roads of Europe this week.

Like the recently-spied prototypes for the updated A5 Sportback, the Cabriolet sports a handful of subtle design changes that will bring it in line with Audi's latest models like the A6 and A7.

Up front there's revised headlights and a new bumper, while the rear sees revisions to the LED tail-lights and bumper insert too. The new tail-lights have a 3D effect that echoes the designs of the new A1 and A6.

In addition to the mild cosmetic revisions, the new A5 is expected to gain Audi's latest infotainment systems, including larger screens and an updated Virtual Cockpit driver's display.

Other expected upgrades include more sophisticated driver assistance systems that should facilitate Level 2 autonomous driving capability, along with revised powertrains with reduced fuel consumption and emissions.

As for timing, it's expected the updated A5 range will be unveiled late this year, ahead of a 2020 market launch. Stay tuned to CarAdvice for all the latest, and click on the images for the full gallery.
