2019 Ram 1500 pricing and specs

A new nose headlines the changes to the V8-powered dual-cab truck, which has maintained similar pricing to 2019 with some price cuts through the range.

Ateco Australia has announced 2019 pricing and specs for the Ram 1500, which has gained a bolder new snout and some minor specification improvements for the new year.

Although it's still the same 1500 we got before, not the all-new DT 1500 revealed at the 2018 Detroit motor show, the car has been given a new grille with more prominent badging at the front, and taller badging along the tailgate.

Beyond the tweaked look, not much has changed from 2018 in the world of Ram. Power still comes from a 5.7-litre V8 petrol engine pumping out 291kW and 556Nm, hooked up to the same eight-speed automatic transmission as before.

The range kicks off with the 1500 Express Quad Cab, priced from the same $79,950 before on-road costs as before. It now comes with a reversing camera as standard, along with a trailer brake controller.

Standard kit includes a colour-matched front grille and bumpers, black side steps, 20-inch alloy wheels, fog-lights, a heavy-duty tow bar, spray-in bed liner, rear parking sensors, cloth upholstery, a 5.0-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, six-speaker audio, manual air conditioning, and floor mats.

Adding the RamBox integrated storage in the side of the tub bumps the price to $84,450 before on-roads, while the Black Pack adds $5000 to both models and, as you'd imagine, dumps the chrome in favour of all-black everything.

Pricing for the Laramie range-topper starts at $99,950 before on-roads, and runs to $104,450 with the RamBox option ticked.

It gets a raft of features over the entry model, including a chrome grille, chrome 20-inch alloy wheels, chrome side steps, chrome bumpers, an electrochromic rear-view mirror, rear-view camera, front parking sensors, automatic wipers... breathe deeply, there's more to come. '

Top-spec cars also gain power-adjustable pedals, leather upholstery, an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, additional 12V outlets at the rear, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel.

Its spec is rounded out with remote keyless entry, climate control, rear air vents and remote start capability.

The 1500 has a maximum braked towing capacity of up to 4500kg – 1000kg more than most mainstream utes – payload of up to 912kg (Express), and a gross vehicle mass (GVM) of 3330kg.

Express versions get a 121-litre fuel tank, while Laramie models get a smaller 98L tank. Fuel use is rated at 12.2L/100km on the combined cycle.

Options include metallic/pearl paint ($850) and a 'Trifold' tonneau cover for non-RamBox versions ($1795).

The Ram 1500 range is covered by a three year and 100,000km warranty with three years of roadside assistance.
