2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe sketched
Upcoming crossover coupe previewed in leaked designer drawing, showing off its Panamera-inspired rump.
A designer sketch believed to be of the upcoming Porsche Cayenne Coupe has surfaced online this week, ahead of a full reveal in the coming weeks.
Published by Carscoops, the drawing shows a fastback-styled Porsche crossover, that features a sharply raked tailgate and slim tail-light clusters joined through the middle by a plastic strip.
The rear of the vehicle depicted in the sketch seems to blend elements of the Cayenne, Macan and Panamera, with a retractable spoiler sat between the rear glass and tail-lights.
It's pretty similar to the development prototypes we've seen recently doing rounds in Europe (above), though these vehicles have been wearing stickers to disguise the tail-light shapes.
Last week the UK's Autocar spoke with Porsche's British boss, who confirmed the Cayenne Coupe will be fully revealed is a matter of weeks, before going on sale in Europe late this year.
Expect the Cayenne Coupe to offer pretty much an identical range of powertrains and variants – though it's possible the base models could be dropped given the coupe's performance-oriented focus.
A range of turbocharged six- and eight-cylinder petrol engines should form the core range, while V6 and V8 plug-in hybrids should also be offered as per the Cayenne wagon.
Key rivals will include the related Audi Q8, BMW X6, and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe (which should be replaced by a new-gen model in the coming months, too). Flagship performance versions, meanwhile, will compete with the also-related Lamborghini Urus.
