2015-16 Audi A4, A5 recalled

Models equipped with the 3.0 TFSI engine could spring fuel leaks, resulting in a fire hazard.

Audi Australia has issued a recall for the previous-generation 2015 and 2016 model-year A4 and A5 fitted with V6 petrol engines, over concerns of a fire risk.

The German luxury marque reports affected vehicles feature the 3.0 TFSI V6 'EA837 Evo' engine, which can experience fuel escaping from one or both fuel rails on the low-pressure side.

If the condition occurs, the fuel leaks could result in fumes entering the cabin and cause a fire "in the presence of an ignition source", posing an injury risk to occupants of the vehicle.

Audi has confirmed there are 141 vehicles affected by this recall across both model lines – a VIN list is attached here.

Owners will be contacted directly by the company's local arm, and will be advised to make an appointment with their local dealer for the inspection and repair of their vehicle.
