2018-19 Volkswagen Golf recalled

An issue with the rear seat bench connector has forced just over 1500 vehicles back to the dealership.

Volkswagen Australia has recalled the 2018-19 Golf, over concerns about the rear seat bench.

According to the company, the welded connection of the rear-seat bench might not be correctly connected. In an accident, there's a risk the rear seat headrest won't be fully effective, increasing the risk of injury to the occupant.

A total of 1504 cars are included in the campaign – a VIN list is attached here.

Volkswagen will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealership. Concerned owners can call 1800 504 076 during business hours for more information.
