Aston Martin Valkyrie drivetrain confirmed to have 865kW
The hypercar's naturally-aspirated Cosworth V12 engine will aided by a KERS-style hybrid system.
Aston Martin has confirmed power outputs for its hotly-anticipated Valkyrie hypercar, which will blend a naturally-aspirated V12 and KERS-style electric boost to develop 845kW.
Aston Martin announced last year the Valkyrie will have a naturally-aspirated 6.5-litre V12 from Cosworth at its core. The internal-combustion engine has a 11,100rpm redline, and develops 747kW of power at 10,500rpm and 740Nm of torque at 7000rpm.
This engine, it has now been confirmed, will be augmented by an electric motor capable of delivering an extra 119kW of power and 280Nm of torque.
The hybrid battery has been developed by Croatian electric specialists Rimac, and the electric motor, which is hooked up to the transmission, is supplied by Integral Powertrain.
At its peak, this hybrid setup can deliver a maximum of 865kW of power at 10,500rpm, and 900Nm of torque at 6000rpm.
The sports car maker has yet to reveal full details about the Valkyrie, nor has it provided the final car's performance figures.
Production of the Valkyrie is scheduled to begin late this year or early in 2020, with the company capping output to 175 road-going versions and 25 race cars.
