Alfa Romeo Giulia QV, Stelvio QV limited editions revealed

Halo versions of Italian sedan and SUV get Alfa Romeo Racing treatment for Geneva, dressed up to look like the company's F1 racers. We'll let you be the judge on the looks.

Alfa Romeo has revealed a pair of F1-inspired special editions based on the Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio performance models for the Geneva motor show next week.

Dubbed the 'Alfa Romeo Racing special series', the limited-edition models celebrate the company's entry into the Formula 1 championship with Sauber.

In keeping with the motorsport theme, both the Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglios have been treated to a Trofeo White and Competizione Red livery that apes that of the F1 race car, and some special equipment items as standard equipment.

Both models get Sparco racing seats with carbon-fibre shells and contrasting red stitching, a Mopar gear selector with carbon insert, a leather/Alcantara steering wheel with carbon insert, and 'Alfa Romeo Racing' interior badging.

Externally, there's burnished alloy wheels (19-inch on the Giulia and 20-inch on the Stelvio), red-painted brake calipers clamped around carbon-ceramic brakes, an Akrapovic titanium sports exhaust, along with carbon-fibre exterior accents.

As before, both the Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio are powered by a Ferrari-developed 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 putting out 510hp (380kW) and 600Nm.

The rear-wheel drive Giulia can hit 100km/h from a standstill in 3.9 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 191mph (307km/h). Meanwhile, the all-wheel-driven Stelvio hits triple figures in 3.8 seconds, while its top whack is rated at 176mph (283km/h).

Carryover features from the 'standard' QV variants include adaptive cruise control, Harman/Kardon premium audio system, an 8.8-inch navigation system, digital radio, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Australia

Alfa Romeo's local division was unable to confirm whether any of the new products headed to Geneva will make their way to Australian showrooms, though it did say "always evaluating new product for the local market".
