2020 Lamborghini Huracan Evo Spyder revealed – UPDATE

Shown in eye-catching Verde Selvans paint, the updated convertible has a 5.2-litre V10 with 470kW and 600Nm.

The Lamborghini Huracan Evo Spyder has been revealed ahead of its physical debut at the 2019 Geneva motor show, which starts at the beginning of March.

UPDATE, 4/3/19: Lamborghini's local division has issued a statement regarding local pricing and specifications for the Huracan Evo Spyder. See bottom of article for details

Like the Huracan Evo coupe, the Spyder is powered by a naturally-aspirated 5.2-litre V10 churning out 470kW at 8000rpm, and 600Nm of torque at 6500rpm. This engine was previously used on the pre-facelift Performante model.

The engine drives all four wheels via a Haldex system, a mechanical self-locking rear differential, and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

According to Lamborghini, the Huracan Evo Spyder has a dry weight of 1542 kilograms, or 120kg more than the fixed-roof coupe.

The Spyder has a claimed 0-100km/h time of 3.1 seconds, and can hit the 200km/h mark in 9.3s. Top speed is said to be 325km/h. By way of comparison, the coupe only needs 2.9s to zip past the 100km/h barrier, and 9.0s to touch 200km/h.

The Spyder's electro-hydraulic soft-top can be raised or lowered in 17 seconds, and can be operated at speeds up to 50km/h.

Thanks to changes to the car's bumpers and aerodynamic attachments, the company claims the Evo Spyder has "more than five times the downforce and efficiency" than the original Huracan Spyder.

The Huracan Evo Spyder rides on 20-inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero 245/30 tyres up front, and 305/30 rubber at the rear.

Standard features include a 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay support, pop-up safety bars, four-wheel steering, magneto-rheological suspension, and an active suspension system.

Australia

The Huracan Evo Spyder will be priced from $505,385 excluding on-road costs, and most likely arriving in Australia during the middle/end of the fourth quarter of 2019.
