Abarth 124 Rally Tribute, 595 esseesse revealed

Limited-edition pair celebrate 70 years of the Abarth brand, and will debut at the Geneva motor show next week.

Abarth has revealed the 124 Rally Tribute and 595 esseesse as part of the company's 70th anniversary celebrations.

The Italian performance brand's new models each have a unique flavour, which are both claimed to be "authentic expressions of the brand's racing soul and its glorious past in motorsport".

First cab off the rank is the new 595 esseesse, which debuts some 55 years after the original.

The new flagship model is powered by a 180hp (134kW) turbocharged petrol engine, which flows through a standard Akrapovic exhaust system.

Other standard features include high-performance Brembo front brakes with perforated and ventilated front discs clamped by red-painted calipers, 17-inch supersport alloy wheels in Racing White, along with white side stripes, mirror caps, and accents in the bumpers.

Rounding out the specification sheet are an air filter "by BMC: that provides better intake air flow capacity, Koni FSD rear suspension, a 7.0-inch Uconnect touchscreen, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Inside, the special-edition 595 gets 'Sabelt 70' sports seats with carbon rear shell, and carbon pedals. Abarth says the racing seats have been "further improved" in terms of their shapes, inserts and padding.

The 124 Rally Tribute, meanwhile, commemorates the company's anniversary as well as the '124 rally' racing car's win at the 2018 FIA R-GT Cup.

Additionally, the 124 rally car has achieved 40 class victories at the 12 national championships in which it competed.

Just 124 examples will be produced, features commemorative badging, a numbered metal plaque, a matte black bonnet, gunmetal grey or red mirror caps and front/rear dams (depending on the colour chosen), and the choice of two colours – Costa Brava Red and Turini White.
