Lister Knobbly concept teased

The classic Knobbly has been given a modern makeover, but we're waiting to hear what's going on under the hood. Prepare for thunder.

Lister is preparing to show off a concept modern reincarnation of its legendary Knobbly racer at the Geneva motor show.

The company's co-owner, Lawrence Whittaker, gave little away in teasing the low-slung concept, beyond tweeting to confirm this is indeed "the new Lister Knobbly concept we've been working on".

It's certainly an arresting car in profile, with wheel arches protruding above the bonnet line and low-set, round headlights. Although the wheels are massive, they're in keeping with the proportions of the classic Knobbly.

Lister is undergoing something of a renaissance at the moment. Along with a continuation of the classic Knobbly racer, the company has been taking already-hot Jaguars and making them hotter.

Along with the F-Type, the F-Pace SUV has been given a working over. In the case of the LFT-666, the original supercharged V8 has been tuned to deliver devilish 666hp (497kW).

What will power the Knobbly Concept remains to be seen, but we'd bank on a big, British V8... Stay tuned for more.
