2020 Skoda Kamiq teased

Czech brand confirms the name of its smallest crossover, which is scheduled to be revealed at the Geneva motor show.

Skoda has previewed its all-new small SUV, set to be called the Kamiq when it is revealed in Geneva next month.

Named after the language of the Inuit people residing in northern Canada and Greenland, the Kamiq shares its name with the company's small SUV offering in China revealed last year, though the global version will be a different vehicle.

The styling should be based on the Vision X concept (below) shown at last year's Geneva motor show, which basically looked like a shrunken version of the Karoq and Kodiaq.

Expect a high amount of technology to be available on both the infotainment and driver assistance fronts, while the interior will focus on maximising space and practicality – as is the Skoda way.

Under the skin the Kamiq will likely be based on the same MQB-A0 platform that underpins various Volkswagen Group models like the Polo and T-Cross, along with the Audi A1 and new Skoda Scala.

Stay tuned for more details in the lead-up to the Geneva motor show, which kicks off on March 5.
