Audi Q4 e-tron concept teased

German marque publishes sketches of swoopy electric SUV ahead of its Geneva reveal. The production version will follow in late-2020 or early-2021.

Audi has released preview sketches of the Q4 e-tron concept it plans to unveil at the Geneva motor show next month.

Like the company's other even-number-badged SUVs, the Q4 looks to be a coupe-styled crossover, with a sloping roofline and more aggressive appearance than say, a Q3.

Up front the slim headlight treatment and single-frame grille ape the look of the new-generation Q3 (due mid-year), though there are more aggressive inserts in the front bumper and the drawings make the headlights look super slim.

There's also several 'e-tron' badges scattered throughout the exterior, another point of difference given the Q3 is yet to get an electrified variant.

Inside, the overall layout of the dashboard is again very similar to that of the Q3, indicating the production version of the Q4 will likely be the coupe-styled companion to the Q3 the same way the larger Q8 is closely related to the Q7.

The driver-oriented dashboard is headlined by a large touchscreen infotainment system running Audi's latest software, while the driver is treated to a digital instrument display.

Blue-coloured inserts adorn the dashboard and doors, which preview areas where owners will be able to personalise their cabin, while an e-shifter set of buttons replaces the conventional gearshift found in combustion-powered Audis.

We'll find out more about the Q4 e-tron concept – and the production model that will follow it – closer to the vehicle's reveal in Geneva in March.
