2019 Range Rover Velar SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition revealed

The first petrol V8 Velar has debuted, and the SVO-developed model has been given a torturously long name instead of just SVR.

Designed by the company's Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division, the Range Rover Velar SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition was unveiled overnight.

Available only during 2019, the special edition Velar has a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 pumping out 404kW of power, and capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds and hitting a top speed of 274km/h.

Externally, the SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition is distinguished by a new front bumper with larger air intakes, a new grille, revised sills, a rear bumper tweaked to accommodate four exhaust tips, and a contrasting black roof.

Colours available include red, black, grey, white, silver and the special order-only Satin Byron Blue.

The V8 Velar rides on standard 21-inch alloy wheels, with 22-inch rims available as an optional extra. Up front the Dynamic Edition has 395mm disc brakes with four-piston calipers, while the rear discs are 396mm in diameter.

SVO has recalibrated the Velar's all-wheel drive system, eight-speed automatic, active rear differential lock, electric power steering, and adaptive dampers to suit to the V8.

Inside, the V8 Velar is fitted with a sports steering wheel, aluminium shifter paddles, and twin-stitched, perforated and ventilated Windsor leather.

Other standard features include 20-way adjustable front seats with heating, cooling and massaging functions, a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation screen, and the Touch Pro Duo infotainment system.
