Ford Mustang Supercar revealed without camouflage
The new Mustang racer will hit the track for the first time on February 28, where it'll go head-to-head with the Commodore.
Ford Australia has whipped the covers from its 2019 Mustang Supercar, ahead of next week's team livery reveals.
The car was first shown in full camouflage last year, at which stage it was undergoing testing at the hands of DJR Penske, Tickford Racing, Ford Performance and Ford Australia, driven by Scott McLaughlin.
Those awkward proportions are down to the fact the car is built around a control chassis, wearing body panels, badging and graphics inspired by the current Mustang.
It'll make its on-track debut at the Adelaide 500, running between February 28 and March 1.
There's certainly no missing it, wearing a huge rear wing and ankle-breaking front splitter. The #1 is a reference to Scott McLaughlin's win in the championship last year, driving a Ford Falcon FG X.
The rear wing is mounted on a 'rear deck extension' designed to mimic the boot lid of the Falcon FG, while the graphics on this car, apparently, have been tailored to highlight the car's most attractive curves.
