British tuning company, Mountune, has announced its latest upgrade packages for the Ford Focus RS, which boost the all-wheel driven hatchback to "truly something phenomenal".

Dubbed 'm400R' and 'm400X', the two kits both bump the 2.3-litre Ecoboost petrol engine's outputs to 294kW and 560Nm – up from the 'standard' 257kW and 440Nm.

The m400R package builds on the previous 'm400' kit, bringing the aforementioned output bump along with "a number of alternative calibrations" including two all-new ones.

"A number of AccessPort features have been made available including: adjustable RPM limit, full-time launch control, adjustable launch set-point, full-throttle gear change, tailored valet and anti-theft modes, dyno mode, and full access to all OBD channels for custom gauges and data-logging," Mountune said in its press release.

Meanwhile, the m400X further boosts the Focus RS' performance by "substantially increasing the area under both the power and torque curves", improving pick-up, response and mid-range performance.

In the UK, both Mountune upgrades are available now for £595 ($1074.78). The company adds that both kits require hardware modifications "to ensure the [Focus RS] achieves the desired performance safely".

Australia

Ford's local division has ruled out the official introduction of the new Mountune kits for Focus RS owners, saying there's "no plans" to bring the m400R and m400X kits Down Under.

Previously, Ford Australia has offered Mountune upgrades for the Fiesta ST and Focus ST, though hasn't offered kits for the Focus RS through official channels.
