2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class recalled
A problem with ESP has forced more than 2400 mid-sized sedans back to the dealership.
Mercedes-Benz has recalled the 2018 C-Class, over concerns about the car's ESP software.
According to the company, the car's ESP software might not meet specifications. In some situations, the brake lights might stay switched on and an error message will be displayed on the instrument cluster.
If the issue occurs, drivers won't be able to move the parking brake from its current position, and ESP will be deactivated. In cases where the parking brake won't activate when a car is parked, there's a risk of it rolling away, putting owners and other road users at risk.
A total of 2442 cars are included in the campaign – a VIN list is attached here.
Mercedes-Benz will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealership for a free fix.
