80 vans have been called back to the dealership over concerns about door locks that don't work correctly.

Mercedes-Benz has recalled the 2018 Sprinter, over concerns about the electronic door locks.

According to the company, the electronic door locks could have been installed with an incorrect operating lever. As a result, the front driver's hinged door, load compartment sliding door and rear-right door could be impossible to open from the inside or outside.

In an emergency, that means there's a risk drivers or passengers won't be able to escape through the right-hand side of the vehicle.

Affected vehicles were sold between August 1, 2018 and December 19, 2018. A total of 80 vehicles are included in the campaign – a VIN list is attached here.

Mercedes-Benz will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealer.
