Renault's new 2019 Clio has leaked on social media, revealing a sharp new look inspired by the larger Megane.

Although it's not due for reveal until 8pm tonight, a set of official-looking pictures of the supermini have appeared on Instagram courtesy of cardesignworld, and it's a serious looker.

The front end takes clear inspiration from the Megane, with a prominent c-shaped graphic in the headlights and a large Renault badge in the middle of the grille.

Down back, the new taillights are very similar to those found on the latest Kadjar. As with the current model, the new Clio hides its rear door handles for a smoother, more two-door style profile.

The boot lid has a sharper look which, if you squint, is similar to that of the Toyota Corolla, and there's plenty of chrome detailing scattered around the exterior.

Last night, we learned all about the new Clio's interior. With a large, vertically-oriented touchscreen and digital driver display, it's a far more modern cabin than what's offered in the current car.

Along with the bigger style tweaks, there are plenty of small changes scattered around the cabin. Renault says the smaller steering wheel is more elegant than before, and comfier to hold, while the centre console is slightly taller than before.

With more storage, wireless phone charging and a smaller, more intuitive gearstick, it promises to make life more comfortable for front-seat passengers.

Renault is making a real fuss about the Clio's seats, which it says are similar to those found on higher-end models and free up more knee room for rear-seat passengers with their soft-shell design.
