Customisation? Check! Lots of screens? Check! Renault is going hard at a youthful audience with the new Clio's interior. The exterior will be revealed tomorrow, 8pm.

Renault has revealed the cabin of its key new compact hatchback, the 2019 Clio, ahead of the car's full reveal tomorrow night.

As you'd expect of a totally-redesigned model, the latest Clio looks altogether more modern than its predecessor, and packs plenty more technology to boot.

For one, there's a new 9.3-inch multimedia screen taking pride of place on the centre console. It's gently curved and, in keeping with the theme kicked off with the latest Megane, vertically oriented.

Gone are the hybrid digital/analogue instruments from the current model, replaced with fully digital displays ranging from 7.0- to 10-inches in size. The largest option can incorporate the car's inbuilt maps, with Renault claiming the combination of a 9.3- and 10.0-inch screen gives the Clio more pixel real estate than any of its rivals.

Along with the bigger style tweaks, there are plenty of small changes scattered around the cabin. Renault says the smaller steering wheel is more elegant than before, and comfier to hold, while the centre console is slightly taller than before.

With more storage, wireless phone charging and a smaller, more intuitive gearstick, it promises to make life more comfortable for front-seat passengers.

Renault is making a real fuss about the Clio's seats, which it says are similar to those found on higher-end models and free up more knee room for rear-seat passengers with their soft-shell design.

In a move made popular by Mini, the new Clio will also offer myriad personalisation options, with no fewer than eight interior design schemes.

There are unique colours available for the air vent surrounds, while the console, dashboard, door panels, steering wheel and arm rests all offering the potential for more unique, interesting designs.
