Mini 60 Years Edition revealed

And it's on the cards for Australia, although there aren't any details about how that'll look exactly.

Mini is no stranger to a special edition, so it should come as no surprise the company has dug into its bag of special paints, stickers and badges to celebrate a very big anniversary.

It's six decades since the original Mini was revealed, prompting the company to reveal the 60 Years Edition. Available in three- and five-door guise, the new 'design model' draws inspiration from its great, great grandparent with a range of unique exterior and interior finishes.

The car is finished in a shade of British Racing Green as standard, but there are four other options: Midnight Black, Moonwalk Grey, Melting Silver or Lapis Blue. Regardless of body colour, there's a choice between white and black for the roof/mirror accents.

A set of unique 17-inch alloy wheels, designed to evoke memories of the original Mini, combine with bonnet stripes to complete the retro makeover. 60 Years badging on the stripes, quarter panels and door sills are a nice touch, too.

As standard, the car comes with the 60 Years Chilli package which brings LED headlights, LED fog lights, white indicators and Union Jack detailing in the taillights. Finally, there's LED logo projection on the outside, displaying that special 60 Years icon on the ground.

Inside, the same special logo is embroidered in the headrests, dashboard trim pieces, and steering wheel. The seats are trimmed in leather, and finished in a special shade of Dark Maroon.

Australia

Although nothing is confirmed at the moment, Mini is expecting the 60 Years in Australia before the end of 2019. Details about exactly when it'll arrive, how much it'll cost and the exact spec are still to come.
