2012-15 Peugeot 4008 recalled

The French SUV has fallen to the same issue as its Citroen sibling.

Peugeot has recalled the 4008 SUV over two separate issues with the parking brake, following in the footsteps of the related Citroen C4 Aircross.

As with the Citroen, one of the recall campaigns relates to corrosion in the parking brake lever and actuating spindle on the rear brake calipers. If the issue occurs, there's a risk the parking brake won't operate effectively, putting the owner and other road users at risk of an accident.

The second campaign also involves the parking brake. Peugeot says one of the parts in the internal play compensator mechanism in the rear brake caliper mightn't work in the long term, meaning the brake could (once again) not work correctly.

A total of 3242 cars are included in the first campaign, while 873 are caught in the second. VIN lists are attached here and here respectively.

Peugeot will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to get in touch with their nearest dealership for a free fix in both cases.
