2020 Lexus RC F Track Edition teased again

Luxury marque publishes more preview images ahead of January 15 reveal.

Lexus has teased the RC F Track Edition once again, shortly before it is fully unveiled at the Detroit motor show next week.

"The Lexus RC F Track Edition turns hot laps all day... and heads all night," the company said in its press release, not offering any further details of the new model.

From what we can see in the shadowy image of the rear, the RC F Track Edition will be based on the facelifted RC – we haven't seen the 'F' version of the refreshed coupe yet – and sport a large carbon-fibre rear wing.

We've seen plenty of spy photos of pre-production prototypes doing rounds on the Nurburgring, and given its name we're expecting the limited-edition variant to be a lighter, circuit-focused version of the RC.

It's unclear whether Lexus will make any changes to the sports coupe's current 351kW/530Nm 5.0-litre naturally-aspirated V8, though the flagship LC500's slightly higher 540Nm torque figure suggests there is some room to move.

Other changes are expected to include suspension revisions, a beefier wheel/tyre/brake package, racing-style front seats, an aggressive body kit, and liberal use of carbon-fibre bits.

Stay tuned to CarAdvice for our coverage of the RC F Track Edition's reveal on January 15 (AEDT).
