2019 McLaren 600LT Spider teased

The new McLaren 600LT Spider has been teased ahead of its unveiling January 16 UK time.

Although the company is only saying the car will the fifth member of its Longtail family, the car in the teaser video has 600LT written on its licence plate, plus the top-mounted exhaust outlets are a pretty big giveaway too.

Additionally, the company has filed certification documents for the 2019 600LT Spider with the California Air Resources Bureau.

We expect the 600LT Spider to feature the same 441kW/620Nm 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 as its coupe sibling, which is capable of completing the 0-100km/h dash in 2.9 seconds.

The 600LT coupe includes a number of weight saving measures, including a unique carbon-fibre front splitter and rear diffuser, seats from the P1, thinner windows, a shorter exhaust system, and a reworked wiring loom.

It also rides on bespoke wheels fitted with custom-designed Pirelli Trofeo R tyres.

Like other cars bearing the Longtail designation, the 600LT Spider is expected to be in production for just a year, with every vehicle being made to order.
