Subaru WRX STI S209 teased for the USA
And it'll be revealed at the Detroit motor show in January.
Subaru is getting ready to launch a track-ready WRX STI in the USA, in the form of the S209.
At the moment, the only preview for the car is a video published by Subaru America, dubbed From Japan with Love.
It shows a heavily camouflaged WRX STI hammering around Virginia International Raceway, suggesting whatever is getting ready for release will be meaningfully different to the stock STI.
The car wears a big bodykit with more aggressive air intakes than standard, along with a set of racy-looking dive planes. The exhaust looks to have grown, and the rear wing is definitely bigger than stock.
To help make people more confident this is the S209, Subaru USA has actually filed a trademark bearing that name. The plot thickens...
