Nissan GT-R: Naomi Osaka special revealed for Japan

NIssan has announced a limited-edition version of the R35 GT-R acknowledging the company's new partnership with tennis Grand Slam champion, Naomi Osaka.

Just 50 examples of this special GT-R will be available, with unique colour options chosen by Osaka herself.

Based on the GT-R Premium grade, three body colour options are available – Midnight Opal, Brilliant White Pearl, and Meteor Flake Black Pearl.

Meanwhile, three new interior colourways have been created for the special edition, which can be combined with any of the exterior colours. They include tan/black, red/black and cream/black.

Other features include a carbon-fibre rear wing fitted with LED high-mount stop lights, along with a golden model-number plate in the engine bay.

The special model will be exclusive to the Japanese market, with pricing to be announced next month.

For those not in the know, Naomi Osaka is a 20-year old professional tennis player of Japanese and Haitian-American descent, who recently won her maiden Grand Slam title at the 2018 US Open, beating tennis legend Serena Williams in the final.

Osaka is the first female Japanese player in history to win a Grand Slam singles title.
