You would be forgiven for thinking this was just a neglected track car for some affluent businessman, although it seems the Devil is in the details with this particular prototype sporting a raft of subtle changes over the standard model.
The prototype features a new chin spoiler tacked on to the standard car's front fascia while a larger lip spoiler sits on the rear trunk with both pieces finished in carbon fibre.
The rear is a shamble of dents, scratches and rough cutouts for the newly located twin exhaust pipes while black panels have been pop-riveted into place to cover the old exhaust outlets.
All these changes point to a new performance flagship for the Maserati GranTurismo which could perhaps sport a new engine likely borrowed from the Ferrari California.
