Audi to preview new entertainment tech at CES 2019

Upcoming e-tron prototype vehicle to showcase the future of in-car entertainment in Las Vegas next month.

Audi has previewed a new concept vehicle for next year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January, said to offer a "new entertainment format and mobile device theatre" to excite "all the senses".

Just a single interior image has been provided with the accompanying press release, showing a cabin that looks rather similar to that of the e-tron quattro electric SUV.

However, Audi's release says the new entertainment technologies will be shown inside "a luxury sedan", potentially hinting at a new e-tron-branded concept.

The German marque has confirmed one of the concept technologies to be shown at CES will be a new entertainment format, dubbed 'Audi Immersive In-Car Entertainment', which turns the vehicle into a movie theatre when it's stationary.

Other features to be showcased at CES 2019 will be based around the idea that future autonomous vehicles will free up time during the journey for occupants to consume various media instead of actually driving.

Stay tuned to CarAdvice for our coverage of CES, which runs from January 8-11.
