2020 Mercedes-Benz C-Class spied again

Next-generation sedan looks to evolve current car's styling

The next-generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan has been spied again, this time during cold weather testing in Sweden.

This latest prototype has shed a few minor false body panels. Despite the copious amounts of disguise, we expect the new car to feature an evolution of today's organic design.

The flatter boot line seen on this car, and earlier development vehicles, is a bit of misdirection courtesy of the disguise team at Mercedes-Benz.

While this vehicle is fitted with makeshift lighting units, we think the new car will feature slimmer head- and tail-lights than today's model.

The new C-Class is expected to ride on an updated version of the MRA rear- and all-wheel drive platform, and is widely expected to feature plug-in hybrid drivetrains.

Wagon, coupe and convertible versions of the C-Class should follow in the months after the sedan is launched. An All Terrain version of the wagon, with increased ride height and off-road styling features, is highly probable.

Under the bonnet, the new C-Class is once again likely to feature four- and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, with the latest turbocharged AMG V8 for the high-performance C63 models.

Although we've yet to see photos of the interior, we expect it will feature the company's MBUX touchscreen infotainment system.
