Porsche Australia has revealed pricing and specifications for the facelifted Macan S, set to touch down during February 2019.
REVIEW: 2019 Porsche Macan
As we learned in October, the new-look Macan will kick off at $81,400 before on-road costs with the base, four-cylinder petrol engine. The more powerful Macan S bumps that to $97,500 before on-roads, a $2000 price jump over the outgoing model.
That jump is offset, according to Porsche, with around $7400 worth of standard equipment over its predecessor. A surround-view camera, LED headlights, and 20-inch wheels from the Turbo have all been added to the spec sheet for 2019.

You also get parking sensors at all four corners, a rear-view camera, privacy glass, auto-dimming mirrors, 14-way adjustable comfort seats, rear side airbags, Apple CarPlay and DAB radio, as with the previous car.
A larger 75L fuel tank and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) both serve to separate the S from its lesser brethren, rounding out the equipment standard on Australian cars that may be optional elsewhere in the world.
Power comes from an all-new 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine making 260kW and 480Nm, for a 5.1-second sprint to 100km/h. That's a meaningful 80kW and 110Nm more than you get in the base four-cylinder Macan, although the pricier model is 70kg heavier as well.

Although it's a mid-life makeover, there's a fair bit separating the new Macan from the pre-facelift model. The dashboard has been revised, with the air vents moving from beside the touchscreen to below it, while the screen itself is now a 10.9-inch unit.
Porsche Connect, with a 4G module and SIM Card Reader, brings a wireless hotspot and app-connect as standard.
Although we're expecting a GTS and Turbo to join the range, there'll be no Diesel S. Porsche earlier this year ended development of diesel cars, instead turning focus to electrification – both hybrid and pure-electric vehicles – in the wake of Dieselgate.
